Slow Food Hudson Valley is honored to welcome celebrated chefs Jody Williams and Rita Sodi of Via Carota for a special edition of our Cookbook Club Potluck. Join us for an unforgettable afternoon as the acclaimed culinary duo shares the story behind their bestselling cookbook, Via Carota: A Celebration of Seasonal Cooking—a vibrant homage to Italian tradition and vegetable-forward cuisine.

This intimate event offers a rare opportunity to connect with two of New York’s most influential chefs in a relaxed, community setting centered around good food and great conversation.

Sign up on Perfect Potluck. Choose a recipe from the Via Carota Cookbook to prepare and bring.

DONATE - TO YOUR LOCAL CHAPTER, SLOW FOOD HUDSON VALLEY

Drinks: Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Guests are also welcome to bring a favorite drink to share.

Slow Food Hudson Valley connects our residents to local food resources which are good, clean, and fair and a local chapter of Slow Food USA. Proceeds from this event will support local organizations addressing food insecurity in the Hudson Valley.

About the chefs:

Rita Sodi and Jody Williams are acclaimed, self-taught chefs and James Beard Award winners, renowned for their New York restaurants: I Sodi, Via Carota, Buvette, The Commerce Inn, and Bar Pisellino.

Rita Sodi

• Opened I Sodi in 2008, inspired by her Tuscan upbringing.

• Via Carota, co-created with Williams, was named “New York’s most perfect restaurant” and won the James Beard Award.

Jody Williams

• Established Buvette in 2011, a beloved spot for all-day eating and drinking.

• Co-authored the bestselling cookbook “Via Carota: A Celebration of Seasonal Cooking.”

• Together with Sodi, they launched Via Carota Craft Cocktails, award-winning ready-to-serve cocktails.

Their restaurants create a vibrant culinary hub in New York’s historic West Village.
